Chico Leg Cramps Review

Chico Leg Cramps fell short of our top spots but still has a fair amount going for it. It has over 100% of the daily value of Magnesium and in Glycinate form but is 500 mg too much Magnesium? It also contains Ginger and Chamomile from our list of ideal ingredients but the quantities are not disclosed. The remaining two ingredients are beneficial towards relieving cramps, pain, and spasm. When it came down to it, two of the main reasons Chico Leg Cramps ranked lower on our list is due to the lack of a satisfaction guarantee and no indication of third-party testing or ingredient purity.

Is Chico Leg Cramps Effective?

One of the ways we can gauge product efficacy is by examining the formula. This product contains 500 mg of Magnesium Glycinate, which might seem to be the optimal dosage for ending cramps but the truth is that the Daily Value (DV) is 420 mg and too much Magnesium can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, irregular heartbeats, abdominal cramping, low blood pressure, and potentially worse effects when Magnesium levels are extremely high. When improving a deficiency, you need more than the DV but with more than the DV already in your leg cramp supplement, there’s little room for the Magnesium that you regularly consume in your diet.

The Herbal Blend consists of Black Cohosh, Chamomile, Ginger, and Turmeric. These ingredients offer antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, and pain-relieving properties. However, these ingredients are lumped together in a proprietary blend so we do not know the quantities of each individual component.

Bottom Line: We suspect that Chico Leg Cramps is effective but we don’t feel confident giving a clear cut answer to the question of its efficacy. There were only a few product reviews on Amazon and while it worked for some people it didn’t work for all of them. We would have liked to see the inclusion of B complex vitamins, especially B1, B12, and Biotin (B7), but we were pleased to find Magnesium Glycinate, Chamomile, and Ginger in this product’s formula. One thing that would have boosted our confidence in this product would be if there was a money-back guarantee as that indicates that the manufacturer expects their product to work. When there is no guarantee, the manufacturer is essentially not accountable for the efficacy of the product. When buying a supplement, you should look for a supplier with a money-back guarantee as they are more likely to be effective.

Is Chico Leg Cramps Safe?

This product is marketed as a safe herbal supplement if it is taken according to the proper manufacturer's recommendations. It has no reported side effects, however, we have our doubts regarding the high dosage of Magnesium and the possibility of developing Magnesium toxicity, as discussed above. We suggest you always check with your healthcare professional before starting any supplementation.

Summary

We do think that this could be a good product, due to having at least 420 mg of Magnesium Glycinate as well as including Chamomile, Ginger, Turmeric in the Herbal Blend. However, we have concerns regarding the amount of Magnesium and we didn’t find any mention of third-party testing or quality control. Without proper certification, a satisfaction guarantee, and more transparency (the label images don’t list the inactive ingredients) we had no choice other than to place this product in our #3 spot.
