CoQ10 is a key enzyme that provides a range of positive benefits to help improve your health. Similar to a vitamin, it is located in the cells' mitochondria. It provides helpful antioxidant qualities that generate renewed energy to the body's cells whilst at the same time ensuring that they are protected. CoQ10 has been shown to help boost heart and vascular health, slow down cognitive decline as well as reduce high blood pressure - amongst many others.
CoQ10 levels reduce as we grow older which often results in a deficiency which can then lead to cell damage. Foods rich in CoQ10 include organ meats, lentils, peanuts, wheat germ, and various different vegetables such as spinach and broccoli, however, it is difficult to get all your need from such foods so supplementation is often required to ensure CoQ10 levels are retained and a deficiency does not occur.
There are many things that can be done to optimize health and promote positive well being, CoQ10 supplementation is an excellent way of kick starting the process.
Unfortunately, no. Many fly-by-night companies just ride the latest health trends, manufacturing inferior products with the wrong ingredients and proportions. They often use cheap additives and synthetic ingredients that do not have the optimal desired effect as active ingredients. Most do not offer an effective daily serving of 300 mg together with a fat-soluble ingredient such as MCT oil for optimal absorption, and most do not include Piperine which is key to speeding up the positive benefits by increasing bioavailability.
Make sure the supplement you choose contains top quality CoQ10 with a daily serving of 300mg. CoQ10 absorbs better with fat, so ideally an effective formula would contain a fat-soluble ingredient such as MCT oil. Furthermore, look out for supplements that contain Piperine, this is well known to aid absorption of the nutrients and enhance the benefits of CoQ10.
From our research, we did not find any negative interactions between CoQ10 and other medications or conditions. However, we still recommend consulting with a healthcare professional if you have a pre-existing medical condition or take any medications on a regular basis. Also, pregnant or nursing women are advised not to take any supplements without a doctor’s approval.
You should take the capsules as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Usually, it is 2 capsules a day. Some people like taking the complete dosage all at once, but we recommend spacing it out to get the most from the effective ingredients. As with any type of supplement, you should not exceed the recommended daily dosage, since this can pose health risks.
Some customers we spoke to reported experiencing positive changes in as little as one week. For others, it took about a month. Results also seem to be a bit different for each person. Some felt unbelievable change right away, while others took a little longer. Many of the reputable brands we reviewed offer refunds to customers who don’t get the results they want within any time frame.
The cost of CoQ10 supplements varies based on the manufacturer. Many of them are worthless, just random companies with cheap quality products trying to cash in on the trend. Some of these companies sell their supplements for as much as $100 per bottle, which we think is a bit too expensive. Most of the really good supplements we tested fell in the $40-$50 range. Others may appear cheaper, but they often boast a one-month supply when they’re really giving you half the recommended dosage with plenty of fillers and binders.
Each person will experience varying results with different products, so it’s hard to say offhand which is best. However, we particularly liked Research Verified CoQ10. We found it to be the best of the 40+ products we researched, based on the product quality, customer feedback, and the company’s customer service.
You can experiment to see which product is right for you, but if you’re looking for a well-reviewed product you can count on, we think you’d love Research Verified CoQ10, a high-quality product at a fair price.
