Wartstick Review

Our third choice is Wartstick whichgenerally advertised as a standalone product without a manufacturer name attached, but a closer look reveals that it is produced by Balassa Laboratories. The formula for Wartstick was invented back in the 1930s though the product only became widely available later on. This product does contain Salicylic Acid at a strong standardization, but it doesn’t contain any of the healing essential oils that we recommend looking for. It might appeal to some consumers because it’s a solid instead of a liquid which gives the impression that it is easier to apply. But is choosing the easy product better than choosing the more comprehensive product? Read our full review to find out more about this option for managing warts.

Is Wartstick Effective?

At a first glance, it appears that Wartstick has a very strong formula, due to the high standardization of 40% Salicylic Acid. However, the important distinction here is that the product is a solid and not a liquid. For liquids, the recommended standardization is 17% while it is 40% for solids that are less absorbable. Even so, it’s still impressive that Wartstick contains the highest standardization of Salicylic Acid for effective treatment.

However, there are no other active ingredients. Unlike our top pick, this formula doesn’t have beneficial essential oils. There is no Tea Tree Oil and Frankincense blend to provide antimicrobial benefits that help fight the wart-causing virus (HPV). Nor is there Oregano Oil or Citrus Oil to fight inflammation. In short, this formula has one strong ingredient but little to support it in its fight against warts. After all, every hero needs a sidekick or team if they want to do their best. Yet, unfortunately, the Salicylic Acid in Wartstick stands alone.

There is a supposed satisfaction guarantee which seems to display the manufacturer’s confidence in their product’s ability to treat warts. However, there are no easily accessible details about the guarantee which is a little shady in our books. If you’re advertising a guarantee, you should have no issue sharing the details of it, even if you don’t expect anyone to need it.

Is Wartstick Safe?

This product is likely safe for most people, but should not be used by people with diabetes, or poor circulation. At any rate, it’s always advisable to talk to your doctor before starting any wart treatment. It’s important to know both the type of wart you are trying to treat as well as what treatment options are best for you.

Summary

In conclusion, we think this is a pretty solid pick (pun not intended). The solid-stick method of applying this formula as well as the high percentage of Salicylic Acid may appeal to many people. However, Wartstick relies entirely on Salicylic Acid to defeat the wart(s) and contains no supporting essential oils that can add antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits. We initially liked that Wartstick is backed with a money-back guarantee but we were discouraged when we couldn’t find any details about the guarantee. All in all, it’s not a bad choice, but we just didn’t think it was the best choice.
