Is Ceylon Insulin Plant+ Effective?

There were only two reviews of this product on the Natures Source website, which is not enough for us to confidently say whether this product is effective or not. For such a specialist manufacturer we would have liked and expected to see more customer feedback. It also seems suspicious that both reviews were submitted on exactly the same date. However, the reviews that do appear are both very good ones. We turned to external sites to see if we could find further feedback. Sadly, again, there was a dearth of information, so we turned to the formula itself to get a better idea about the efficacy of this product.

From the ingredients themselves, it appears that Ceylon Insulin Plant+ Relief may very well be effective for controlling blood sugar. Each capsule contains 2,000mg Costus Igneus Leaf Powder, 1,000mg Ceylon Cinnamon Powder, and 10mg BioPerine^®. All 3 ingredients are clinically-proven with benefits for both insulin uptake and balancing blood sugars, and all are on our list of 'must haves'. This was an excellent start.

Natures Sources star ingredient in this formula is Costus Igneus, the "Insulin Plant". It is plant that is native to central America and widely used in Ayurvedic medicine. Although more research is needed on the effectiveness of this plant, it definitely looks promising. Ceylon Cinnamon was the focus of various studies for its effects on blood sugar. For example, a study by Kizilaslan and Erdem published in the International Journal of Food Science in 2019 observed the beneficial effects of cinnamon on lowering fasting blood sugar. We were also very impressed at the high dose of BioPerine^®, the patented black pepper extract that is said to increase the absorption of nutrients. Most supplement manufacturers do not choose to add this to their formulas, and it is extremely rare to include such a significant quantity. This helped us to form a positive opinion of the effectiveness of this product and propel it to our third place.

Is Ceylon Insulin Plant+ Safe?

Like the other products in the Natures Source range, this is a natural supplement that is free of GMOs, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, and flavors. The products are manufactured in a cGMP certified, FDA registered factory, and carries out third-party testing at labs in the USA.

Saying that, you should never exceed the recommended dose (- which is confusingly written as either four or six capsules daily). As with any dietary supplement, a doctor or other healthcare professional should be consulted before using this product. The manufacturer advises that it is not intended for those under the age of 18, nor should it be taken by anyone who is pregnant, nursing, allergic, taking other medications, or already under medical supervision.
