It may be surprising to see Golde on our list as second choice since this company has not been around for very long; however they have some exciting products and we believe are heading in the right direction. The product we looked into is their Pineapple Debloat. Offered either as a box of 8 sachets for $15, or a pouch of 30 for $32, these pineapple flavored packets promise to ‘beat the bloat’ and ease up digestion with a coconut and pineapple juice formula. This product sounds enticing to say the least, however once we delved deeper into the details of the product, there were a number of factors that pushed it down the list for us. They do not offer a money-back guarantee, we did not find any mention of a cGMP certification and it is flavored with Stevia which may leave an unpleasant aftertaste.
Is Golde Pineapple Debloat Effective?
The ingredients included in a daily serving are 100 mg protease enzyme blend, 40 mg Ginger and 30 mg of the probiotic Bacillus subtilis. The ingredients are minimal. On the one hand, we appreciate the combination of a probiotic, enzymes and Ginger, however it’s not specific enough to be a long-term solution for gas and bloating. Digestive enzymes can be very beneficial to aiding digestion and absorption of nutrients, however we don’t know what is included in this enzyme blend as there is no specific information regarding which enzymes are included nor the amount of each. In addition, just one probiotic seems a bit underwhelming. We were impressed with the 40 mg of Ginger they added to the formula, which is said to be effective in relieving gas, although it would be more effective if combined with Artichoke.
We feel that this product is full of good intentions but has spread itself too thin trying to include too many elements that don’t necessarily belong together. We think that a formula that is more specific with targeted ingredients would be significantly more effective. We appreciate the idea of making a pineapple flavored drink after a meal to help with digestion and includes coconut water which is good for hydration, however there are key ingredients that we would have liked to see in this formula. These include Artichoke, Chamomile and Turmeric. It’s also important to note that each serving contains 2 g of sugar, so for anyone looking to drop their sugar intake, this might not be the way to do so. Instead, we would have liked to see the addition of a thermogenic enhancer such as black pepper to facilitate faster absorption.
Bottom Line: We did find a fair amount of positive reviews for this product which is why we feel justified placing it as second in our list. However, we’re not convinced that it would work for most people due to the lack of many key ingredients we found to be effective in gas and bloating products.
Is Golde Pineapple Debloat Safe?
This product is 100% natural and vegan-friendly. It does not hold a cGMP certification, nor does it mention that it is produced in an FDA-registered laboratory. However, it has no reported side effects and can be taken with most medications. That said, we suggest you always check with your healthcare professional to be absolutely sure.
Additionally, it is important to note that this product contains coconut, which means it is not suitable for anyone allergic to tree nuts.
Summary
We love the idea of this product - something fun to take to help with digestion post meals. A pineapple flavored juice sounds like the perfect dessert after a hearty meal. We like the intentions of this product, including an enzyme blend, probiotic and Ginger. However, we feel that this product should be more specific. If it is an enzyme product for digestion, it should be focused on a range of various enzymes specified towards aiding digestion. Similarly, if they’re already including probiotics, there should be a wider range to make it more effective. We found the key ingredients that have been clinically tested to be effective for gas and bloating to be missing. The only clinically tested ingredient here is Ginger. Ideally, even then, Ginger should be paired with Artichoke, which we did not find in this formula. Overall, it looks like a fun product to try, but we were disappointed that there is no money-back guarantee offered if it doesn’t work.
