What we really liked about this product was the use of two patented ingredients, FloraGLO^® lutein and OPTISHARP^® zeaxanthin for preventing age-related eye diseases. This formula also includes selenium, grape seed and bilberry, as well as vitamins C and E.

However, we did note that less lutein is included in this formula when compared to other supplements - 10mg, only half of the amount provided by our top 2 eye health products. This supplement is also formulated without astaxanthin and taurine, which are critical for preventing age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and also without vitamin B1 to reduce the risk of developing cataracts. Without these key ingredients, this product may not be as effective as it could be. It is also unfortunate that a bioenhancer such as BioPerine was not included, as it is proven to speed up and boost results.

Another potential problem is the limited return policy on this product. The manufacturers only allow returns on unopened bottles within 14 days of purchase. This is an unrealistic policy for customers who wish to return their item, and also denies them the opportunity to try it out and decide whether it works for them or not.

Viteyes AREDS 2 Advanced might have received a higher grade if it included some more key ingredients to boost eye health and a bioavailability enhancing ingredient to improve their absorbance into the body. They were almost there with a quality product, but not quite. With a limited return policy and no guarantee to back it up, you might be hesitant to spend your hard-earned money on it.

Is Viteyes AREDS 2 Advanced Safe?

We did not find any ingredients in this product that would cause it to be unsafe, such as uncertified stimulant ingredients or other herbs. There are no reported side-effects and it can be taken together with most medications.
