Nature’s Bounty Biotin Review

We consider Nature’s Bounty Biotin to be a good quality hair growth product because the company recommends a 10,000mcg daily dosage, which is the amount cited as effective in several clinical studies. However, the capsules contained additional ingredients. In our eyes, this lowered the value of the product. That said, this product is still relatively decent quality, so we wanted to give you the complete rundown.

Is Nature’s Bounty Biotin Effective?

When a product claims to be made from pure D-biotin which is the naturally occurring, biologically active form of biotin, by all means it should be effective. Let us stress, should be. One issue that raises a slight red flag here is that Nature’s Bounty Biotin contains additional ingredients, which preferably should be avoided as they can block the effectiveness of the biotin. Because there is no mention of how much of the additional ingredients are used, it was hard for us to say how much of an effect these added ingredients would have on the product’s actual effectiveness. In the lab, its ingredients showed consistency with the label claims.

So, we went looking to see what consumers had to say, and it seemed that a handful of users experienced little to no results with this formulation and many experienced headaches. We do not know if they tried to return the product and if they were able to get their money back, since the company does not feature any kind of refund policy on its web site, which concerned us. These consumer reviews were not found on the manufacturer’s web site, in fact we did not find any testimonials good or bad, which definitely lowered their ranking.

The manufacturer hosts a pretty impressive and colorful website, which made it easy to navigate and find the many products it sells. They also provide a lot of information about the company and quality control which was impressive. It is GMP compliant and has been successfully audited by the United States Pharmacopeia and STR (Specialized Technology Resources), a leading independent dietary supplement quality evaluation firm.

Nature’s Bounty Biotin might have a little better luck with effectiveness if they avoided including additional ingredients in their pills. They were almost there with a quality product, but not quite.

Is Nature’s Bounty Biotin Safe?

We did not find any added ingredients in this product that would cause it to be unsafe, such as stimulant ingredients or other herbs. As for the D-biotin which it contains, since this is naturally occurring and is the biologically active form of biotin, in general, it is deemed to be a safe supplement if taken according to proper recommendations. There are no reported side effects and it can be taken with most medications.

Our main concern is that this product contains additional ingredients, with no information in regards to the amount in each capsule. Additional ingredients in undocumented amounts can greatly affect your health and even put you at risk. Companies should only use pure, natural ingredients and document very clearly as to the amount of each compound. As a customer, you must know what you are consuming.

Summary

Nature’s Bounty Biotin had the right idea in making their product with D-biotin in the right amount. However, the inclusion of additional ingredients decreases its effectiveness. The price was pretty competitive compared to others on the market, but we thought it was a little expensive for a product that contains additional ingredients and comes with some reports of not being effective. Our final say is that these softgels would need to remove the additional ingredients to become the #1 product on the market.
